Caleb! Found a new song and it's super catchy:
Havana by Camila Cabello
Thanks, Emma!
Everyone has a song, and sharing the song, is allowing someone to look at who you are, right at that moment.

Michaela
Okay, so I'm breaking the rules here a little bit. I've known Michaela for maybe six months. Even though I've known her for a while, I haven't really known a ton about her until a few weeks ago. I asked her what her favorite song was and she answered: Right Now I'm Missing You by: MattyB and Brook Adee. Then, I rephrased the question. What song is really important to you? And her answer was different this time. Little Do You Know by: Alex and Sierra (a song which I happen to love, by the way)
Thanks, Michaela.
Thanks, Michaela.

Hello, From Hannah
Hello, everyone. This is Hannah posting. I figured I’d finally get
myself together and write a post. Caleb invited me to co-author this blog a
couple of weeks ago, but life has a way of shoving itself in front of your face
and keeping you from doing things you want to do. Not that I’m bitter or
anything. But that’s besides the point.
When he told me about the premise of this blog, it was something
that I’d never really thought about before. This whole idea of people’s
favorite songs being a sort of peephole into their mind. A sort of snapshot of
that moment. And I agree.
A couple of quick facts about me: I am a writer. I love music
(that’s a given). I love creating (drawing, photography), even if I’m really awful at it. I’m a nerd
in anything psychology or science related (I know. I’m weird.) Musically
related, though, I grew up with a dad who loves music. He was in a band and he
taught me to appreciate the way the songs were built, instrument-wise,
harmony-wise, etc. I also grew up with a mom who’s a writer. And in that way, I’ve
learned to love songs with creative lyrics. I’ll listen to nearly anything. That
being said, I almost always have 10 or so favorite songs. So asking my favorite
song is like asking which essential organ I would like to keep the most. There’s
no choosing.
That aside, here are the current songs that I love:
Blasphemy by Twenty One Pilots (This one is from their unreleased
album on YouTube)
Rockabye by Clean Bandit (Caleb, you have gotten me completely
addicted)
When you Love Someone by James TW
Can You Hold Me by NF
Mansion by NF
Hallelujah by Pentatonix
True Colors by Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake
Friend Please by Twenty One Pilots
Inner Demons by Julia Brennan (I literally found this one today
and I’ve only listened to it two times, but I can sense it becoming a fast
favorite, so I’m including it.)
So, anyway, that’s a little bit about me. I hope to be blogging on
here a lot. Until next time!

Tyler
First things first. I had NO idea that Dollar Tree had everything for a dollar! I've only ever been to Dollar General where everything can be up to twenty bucks, but Dollar Tree... it's my new addiction.
Anyway, I had the fortune of meeting this great guy named Tyler at this new obsession store of mine. After chatting for a minute, I asked him his favorite song, and with some consideration, he wrote down "Not Afraid" by Eminem. I love this song, so good choice Tyler!
Thanks for your suggestion and for being so chill man.
May we meet again.

Kaylee
This girl at the gas station. I'm laughing. I commented on her necklace (I thought it was Avatar: the Last Airbender and was about to have a geek out moment) and she immediately mentioned how her boyfriend got it for her. Now I thought it was odd until I realized that she thought I was hitting on her. XD As funny as I think that is, since when has complimenting someone only been excused if we are also hitting on them? I think its kind of sad but I wish you the best of luck anyway! Her song was "Fine by Me" by Andy Grammar and I gave her "Lost on You" by LP.
Thanks Kaylee for your song! Hope you have a better day than I did. :)
May we meet again.

Hannah - Author
During a shift at work today, my coworker, Hannah, and I, got to talking about music. She mentioned how she was always on the hunt for new stuff and after exchanging a few songs, I asked her for her favorites. She said "Mansion" by NF, a Christian rapper that I now follow, and "Jesus Wept" by Sia, one of my all time favorite artists in a song I hadn't heard yet. I had her listen to "Rockabye" by Clean Bandit and "She Wolf" by David Guetta & Sia, and I knew we were going to get along. So I have invited her to start writing on here and I think she'll bring some awesome stuff to the table including her mad writing skills and new music. :)
Welcome Hannah! I can't wait to see what you can come up with on here. :)

Laura
I met this great, outgoing girl today named Laura through my EMT Certification courses. When I asked her for her favorite song, she wrote, "You and Me" by Lifehouse. First of all, I love this song, but second, it really showed me that Laura has many different sides. See, Laura is this awesome person who will talk to anyone, super confident about herself, and makes friends easily. On top of that though, I feel like (by listening to her favorite song) she knows more than many people the value of appreciating what you have while you have it. More specifically, because everything is in the wind, and nothing is permanent, you need to do all you can with the thing or person you have. This is a good thought for me to cling to. Many times I find that I do not appreciate the people I have, the friendships I've made, the job that I am privileged with, and I need to change my attitude sometimes. AND can I just say, I love this guy's voice. Absolutely hypnotic.
Thank you Laura for your friendly spirit and your awesome suggestion!

Bee
Today, I pulled up to the gas station with my "empty" light flashing yellow at me (I'm not great at remembering to fill my tank) and got out to pay cash at the booth. This nice, young gal named Bee helped me and I asked her for her song in return for my two suggestions. I wrote my favorite songs at the moment "Rockabye" by Clean Bandit and "Burn With Me" by Amaranthe and slid the paper through the metal box. She sent back a second paper with the song "Clairvoyant" by The Story So Far. A simpler song with a nice background guitar and melancholy tones.
Thank you Bee for being you and for your wonderful suggestion!
May we meet again.
